Infinite Island Hybird

Our Story

We are the first 3D immersive future museum of the world.

2018

The beginning of interdisciplinary collaboration: In late 2018, we began collaborating again with a friend we had known since primary school. We came from animation and brand design, while we came from landscape architecture and spatial design. As children, we enjoyed collecting beautiful stones after the rain; as adults, we shared a passion for education and curation. We entered a conceptual design competition about the ideal city and experimented with taking turns to lead one another.

2019

The concept of a virtual expo park took shape: We further developed the concept of a virtual expo park and began asking what it should ultimately become. The original intention was simple: to create a place that could bring together and present forward-thinking people, ideas and works, beginning online and gradually extending into the physical world. When deciding whether to position it primarily as a cultural institution or a technology company, we chose to place culture, curation and public value first, treating technology as a tool for realising the vision rather than as the boundary of the project itself.

2020–2021

Holding direction through a technology wave: We gradually developed the technical foundations for online experiences and completed several early projects. During the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual exhibitions, online experiences and the “metaverse” expanded rapidly, and the project also encountered opportunities from technology and venture networks. But we chose not to turn Infinite Island into a pure technology or metaverse company, and continued to pursue the direction of a cultural institution. This period clarified an important principle for us: technology can change the form, but it should not replace the purpose.

2022

Rethinking interdisciplinary collaboration: As our work in virtual experiences and curation deepened, we became increasingly aware that an immersive exhibition brings together narrative, art, architecture, space and programming. The real challenge was not to make every discipline think in the same way, but to help them collaborate around a shared purpose. “Unity without uniformity” therefore became an important principle in how we understood both teamwork and creation.

2023–2024

Education became central: Through continued learning about life, growth and education, we gradually clarified that if the ultimate aim is to help people grow, educational ideas should guide the narrative, and the narrative should in turn guide spatial, artistic and technological experiences. Infinite Island therefore began to move beyond simply creating online experiences towards archiving, collecting, curation, public education and talent development.

2025–2026

From projects to a system: We began building more systematically around a non-profit structure, public education, community development and methodology, gradually forming the direction we follow today: preserving knowledge and creative work worth carrying forward, reinterpreting them through curation, storytelling, art and technology, and transforming them into public cultural spaces that can be understood, experienced, practised and recreated.
