About ‘DazzleType’

Exploring the boundaries of legibility and message.

’Peter Smith created DazzleType an alphabet based on a 6 by 6 unit grid system. The alphabet is designed to display messages in a powerful geometric style where the letterforms interlock using both the figure and background of the letters. The letters are used in contact with each other to create contrast, rhythm and flow, which in-turn produces a dynamic pattern quality. The work in this exhibition has been forged into NFTs and listed on the OpenSea platform, it is also a part of an ongoing experiment to encourage positive messages that communicate to a public audience to uplift and inspire.
